Refreshing code changes in reports objects in SSRS

When working with the reports' objects (be that one of the controller, contract, data provider classes, the query, or the table, temp or regular) sometimes it happens that the changes done are not properly reflected in SSRS.

Locating a control in your report design in Visual Studio

You are developing a report in SSRS and you are getting some warning or error that a specific control has an issue with its expression.

Getting the dataset1_parmParameter parameter is missing a value message

Working on a SSRS report and getting this error when you are running it: "The 'Dataset1_parmParameter' parameter is missing a value". If this is the case, there are multiple scenarios that you can find yourself into, but the most standard one is that you have a parameter defined in the Parameters section of the report (in Visual Studio of course) that is not getting its value.

Getting Loading this assembly would produce a different grant set from other instances. message

Today I encountered a very strange error, not sure how I got myself into that situation, but I was getting this error when trying to do a Build on a SSRS report in VS: "Loading this assembly would produce a different grant set from other instances.".

Getting The default Report Server Configuration ID could not be found in the SRSServers table message

Getting the "The default Report Server Configuration ID could not be found in the SRSServers table." also knows as the @SYS319407 label id.

Getting Error while setting server report parameters message

So, working on SSRS reports and your consultant informs you that, when they try to run specific reports, they keep getting "Error while setting server report parameters. Error message: The permissions granted to user 'domain\icordobin' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)".

SSRS report using the old Query definition

Again, SSRS. This time it's about the Query you are using and changing it throughout the development process; now, here comes the problem in the form of AX acting like it's using another version of the query, just not the definition that we have right now in AOT (the one that we just changed).

SSRS reports erroring on terminal services machine

So, you're developing SSRS reports, and you have your AX installation infrastructure distributed on two machines: one is hosting the AOS, SQL Server, SSRS, any server components, and another running Terminal Services for your consultants to connect and test the developments. One of items to be tested are SSRS reports.

Run SSRS report from code to PDF file

For sure you've received the request to run a report in silent mode (just click on a button) and output it as a PDF file. The code to do this is quite straightforward, and there are also some places in AX that are also implementing this.
