If you are using Office Add-ins and defined in Organization Administration - > Document management -> a Document data sources using as a source a Query Reference, sometimes it may happen that it won't be listed in the available data sources list in Office Word (or Excel).
Speaking only from my experience, I discovered that this happens when the Query itself starts to experience issues, like an underlying table's columns or properties, used in the query, were changed and the query was not refreshed (Restore command).
What fixed it for me was performing a refresh of the Query itself combined with a Tools -> Caches -> Refresh dictionary and Refresh elements. No need for a CIL generation, since this has nothing to do with managed code, right?
